The Sable Altura Fire Protection District maintains a paid Fire Chief, EMS Coordinator, Training Coordinator, and line personnel to complement the volunteer staffing.
The District generally hires emergency response staff from its internal staff first when positions are available. Positions that are posted here reflect either the expiration date has passed for internal applications, or a position has been opted to be cross-posted externally at the same time. Part-Time Firefighter EMT or Paramedic
See the documents below for Job Description and detailed information. This position may be for either a day or night position. The hours are 0700-1900, or 1900-0700, and follow a 10-day rotating "Modified-Kelly shift", and would include weekends and holidays:
At this time there is preference in applications for those able to work the day shifts.
Applicants must be currently (or immediately able to be) certified as an EMT or Paramedic with the State of Colorado Department of Public Health, and must at minimum have a current (or able to receive immediate reciprocity) certification with the State of Colorado as a Firefighter I or higher with the Colorado Division of Fire Protection and Control.
