Santa Parade
Santa is confirmed to visit again this year, and we're getting things ready for him!
He loves riding our Engine, so be sure to be ready to see him around the communities, early on Sunday, and then come see him in person at the station!
Giving Tree SAFD
The SAFD Giving Tree is our way of trying to help the children in our jurisdiction who are a little less fortunate this year, and to bring the spirit of giving and joy to them each year. Children must be nominated to be included in the Giving Tree, and there's a limit of how many we can take! See below for details!
Crafts, Games, and Snacks with Our Firefighters
Each year, our staff get into the Holiday Spirit with our Community and enjoy making crafts, playing some games, and maybe enjoying a cookie or two with some hot chocolate!
Holiday Event at Sable Altura
The Holiday Event at Sable Altura isn’t to be missed!
With Santa being available, holiday crafts and games with the firefighters, snacks, and of course the ability to choose an “Angel” from our Giving Tree to help a child this season, it’s one of the finest ways to get your Holiday Season in full gear, and to enjoy the mood!
The Sable Altura Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local #5280 sponsors much of the craft activity, and Community members get to enjoy a bit of time making holiday crafts to take home!
Enjoy some cookies, and hot chocolate, and ring in the holiday season with us!
SAFD Giving Tree
Our Giving Tree is the core of our holiday season.
It started a few years ago during the pandemic, with a hope that we could find a way to make the holidays a little more joyful for some children in our community whose families were suffering financially. We wanted to address the kids our OUR communities directly.
The program continues today, as we continue to bring our community together with the joy of the holidays and the spirit of giving.
How It Works:
Children are nominated for the year. SAFD Elves sort through the nominations, and choose those who qualify the most.
The Elves create an “Angel Ornament” for our Giving Tree, that associates to that child (by gender, and age). Only the Elves know the child that matches the ornament!
Wonderful people then choose an ornament, in person, or by contacting us directly, purchase a gift, and return it to us so our Elves can deliver the gifts!
For 2023, Giving Tree Gift Return is due by Monday, December 18th!
Before the December 25th, the SAFD Elves will deliver the gifts to the kids!
